
Paul is responsible for leading AEMO’s independent subsidiary, AEMO Services.
Prior to joining AEMO Services in June 2021, Paul spent more than 35 years in senior governance and management roles across the financial, government and energy sectors. This includes NSW Government (Energy and Treasury), Commonwealth Government (Treasury), Westpac, Bankers Trust and Macquarie Bank.

Thomas leads AEMO Services’ Stakeholder Relations function which encompasses all external communications and stakeholder engagement. Thomas has extensive experience in advocacy, communications and campaigns with a focus on regional Australia and prior to joining AEMO Services, served in a senior role leading major transport infrastructure and policy advice for the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia.
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University.

Sharon commenced with AEMO Services in April 2022 and is responsible for Governance, Risk, Legal, Compliance and Audit at AEMO Services.
Sharon has over 20 years’ experience in the energy, utilities and infrastructure industries in both the private and public sectors. She has expertise in risk, compliance, legal and governance issues. Her previous executive roles include General Counsel and Company Secretary of one of Australia’s largest energy companies and also as a corporate energy partner of Herbert Smith Freehills.
Sharon holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Adelaide. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Graeme Edie joins AEMO Services as General Manager – Financial Markets with more than 30 years’ experience in financial markets and treasury roles. During this time, Graeme held a range of senior positions including multiple managing director and global leadership roles.
At AEMO Services, Graeme is responsible for maximising consumer value through the risk management of the consumer balance sheet and oversight of financial administration. Graeme also led the appointment of the Financial Trustee, and establishment of the Scheme Financial Vehicle.
Graeme is a graduate of Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and has undertaken international post graduate study in management and corporate governance.

Brad Hopkins joined AEMO Services from its establishment and currently serves as General Manager - Commercial, alongside Baharak Sahebekhtiari. The Commercial Team leads the design and implementation of our competitive tender processes.
Brad Hopkins has more than 15 years’ experience financing energy projects around the world, including 12 years with Macquarie Bank. Prior to joining AEMO Services, Brad played a leading role in implementing the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and designing the policy whilst a Partner at KPMG. Since returning to Australia from the UK in 2016, Brad has led some of the largest and most complex renewable energy transactions and energy policies.
Brad has a Masters of Science (Environmental Economics) from the London School of Economics, a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland.

Melanie Koerner is responsible for leading AEMO Services’ System Planning and Renewable Energy Zone authorisation function.
In this role, Melanie leads the development of Infrastructure Investment Objectives Reports – our blueprint for meeting NSW’s future electricity needs and the authorisation of new Renewable Energy Zone transmission infrastructure.
Melanie has joined AEMO Services with twenty years’ of experience as a consultant, leading transformation in Australia’s energy sector, with a focus on policy design, regulatory reform and business case development within emerging and existing energy markets. She has previously worked in a consulting capacity across the sector including for regulated network businesses, energy retail companies, energy market bodies and government.
Melanie has a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from the University of Adelaide.

Baharak Sahebekhtiari joined AEMO Services from its establishment and currently serves as General Manager - Commercial, alongside Brad Hopkins. The Commercial Team leads the design and implementation of our competitive tender processes.
Baharak is an experienced senior public service executive who has led significant policy reforms for the NSW Government. Baharak has a well-regarded track record of developing high performing partnerships, both internal and external to Government to deliver strategic value to the citizens of NSW.
In addition to her work with the NSW Government, Baharak has also led a diverse range of local government projects and initiatives both in metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW.
